Steve Luttner
Vice President
Steve Luttner joined Lesic & Camper Communications after working for 30 years as a reporter, columnist and editor at daily newspapers in Ohio.
Luttner spent 23 years at The Plain Dealer, where he served as the newspaper’s politics writer. He covered national political conventions and numerous local, state and federal political campaigns – including the classic 1989 Cleveland mayoral race.
He has interviewed and written about hundreds of candidates and officeholders at every level – from township trustees to U.S. presidents.
At Lesic & Camper, Luttner works as a senior counselor concentrating on the statewide firm’s northeast Ohio clients. His duties include writing, research and media relations.
Before he became The Plain Dealer’s politics writer, Luttner covered Cleveland City Hall. He worked more recently as a reporter in The Plain Dealer’s Summit and Medina county bureaus.
In 2000, Luttner was awarded first place honors in the Best Public Journalism category from the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists for “Who Holds Power in Cleveland?” – an in-depth examination he wrote about the city’s most influential movers and shakers.
Prior to working at The Plain Dealer, Luttner was a reporter at the Columbus Citizen-Journal, where he covered Columbus City Hall. He started his newspaper career at The Tribune Chronicle in Warren, Ohio, where he was an assistant city editor and reporter.
Luttner has a bachelor’s degree in journalism news from Kent State University. He was editor of the university’s student newspaper.
