Nancy Lesic John Meyer
Senior Counsel

John Meyer’s company, Capital City Communications, became a Lesic & Camper affiliate in 2005 following his retirement from a long career in governmental communications.  John works primarily as a writer for Lesic & Camper, but also serves in research and strategic communications functions as well. He has worked extensively on behalf of various Lesic & Camper clients, including the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority, LSP Technologies, and Synthesis, Inc.

His own company provides professional copywriting services across a broad spectrum of client needs, including public relations, technical and report writing, and executive speechwriting.  He founded Capital City Communications in 1997.

John brings more than 25 years of political and governmental communications experience to his affiliation with Lesic & Camper Communications. Before “retiring” from public service in March 2005, he served as Communications Director for State Treasurers Jennette B. Bradley and Joseph T. Deters, Governor George V. Voinovich, and Mayor and Franklin County Treasurer Dana G. “Buck” Rinehart. In these capacities, he directed all media relations, event planning, publications, Website, and speechwriting functions.

Over the years, John has also worked on dozens of political campaigns at the city, county, state, and federal levels, as well as on a variety of local and statewide ballot initiatives. His campaign roles have focused on strategic communications planning, media relations, materials creation, and message and issue development.

John began his career as a high school English teacher with the Columbus Public Schools. He earned two undergraduate degrees in English and education, and a master’s degree in journalism, from The Ohio State University. He currently serves as a volunteer board member for the Ohio Wildlife Center, after previously serving on the board of Directions for Youth and Families.
